Editor's Note
Fripp's Sunday Lunch madness continues...
Admittedly, I don't know King Crimson's catalog as well as I should. I know enough, though, to know that it's chock full of some of the most intricate, knotty, and complex guitar parts – courtesy of the band's longtime six-stringer and sole constant member, Robert Fripp – in the history of the instrument.

A couple of years ago, for instance, one guitarist made headlines – and even wrote a book about – his decades-long (yes, decades) quest to master the band's song, Fracture.

That reputation, in turn, is a huge part of what makes Fripp's long-running Sunday Lunch series so surprising, and bizarre.

Always with his wife, Toyah Willcox, on vocals, the Sunday Lunch videos feature Fripp... loosely, we'll say... tackling the most un-King-Crimson-like of songs. Past examples include hits by Kiss, Korn, and Limp Bizkit, with the most recent being a spirited Mötley Crüe cover.

As you might expect, not all of King Crimson's fans think too highly of the ridiculous covers. Not that Fripp minds.

“At age 76," Fripp shrugged at the criticism recently, "why should I give a fuck?”
