How your guitar's control pots affect its tone
Potentiometers certainly aren't the most sexy parts of a guitar, and they're typically not first in line to be replaced when a guitarist gets that 'I need something else' itch.

If you do have that itch, however, and are on a tight budget, they're a good place to look at first, as switching them out can often be a cheap, easy tonal win.

Our new control pots guide will tell you everything you need to know about these crucial parts – how they can affect the effectiveness of pickup swaps, when you should consider switching them out, and what sets different kinds of control pots apart from one another. Give it a look before you buy that set of pickups, or that new amp or, heck, that new guitar. You might save some serious cash.
