DigiTech and DOD – back in the saddle?

Since their former parent company, Harman, was purchased by Samsung in 2017, the iconic pedal brands DigiTech and DOD have been largely dormant.

After the acquisition, DigiTech and DOD's entire creative teams were fired, and all new products from the brands – and there were reportedly quite a few in the pipeline – were halted.

Now though, both brands – and everything associated with them – have been acquired by Cor-Tek, the maker of Cort guitars. In a statement accompanying news of the acquisition, Cor-Tek said that it's looking forward to "continuing the manufacturing and selling of [the brands'] iconic products as well as investing in new features and products.”

Down the line, we're keen to see if DigiTech and DOD follow the product road map their former employees laid out before their termination by Samsung, or pursue a different path, but for now, this is just plain exciting news in the gear world.
