Editor's Note
A chat with two seven-string pioneers
28 years after they re-shaped heavy metal with their debut LP, Korn are still going strong, having released their 14th studio album, Requiem, in February.

James ‘Munky’ Shaffer and Brian ‘Head’ Welch – both pioneers of the seven-string guitar – have anchored the band for most of their existence, and are, amazingly, still finding new ways to play heavy.

GW recently sat down with Shaffer and Welch to discuss seven-strings, the recording of Requiem, the boutique pedals they use to get their craziest modulated sounds, and their advice for young bands looking to stand out. The interesting chat is available for your perusal below.
