Whatever's right for the job...
Back in 2021, Genesis guitarist Mike Rutherford made headlines around the world when he revealed that, for Genesis' hugely successful The Last Domino? tour, he used – among other guitars – $200 Squier Bullet Strats onstage.

Of course, he wasn't the first successful pro player to make do with cheap gear – far from it, in fact.

Now, you can add guitarist Scott Poley to that fascinating list.

For an extensive arena tour with his Fleetwood Mac tribute band, Rumours Of Fleetwood Mac, Poley used a Harley Benton ST-20 Stratocaster copy. Worth $95 new, Poley acquired it second-hand, for a mere $40.

With just a few minor adjustments, which the guitarist documented on YouTube, Poley was able to use this cheap workhorse for the entire tour. Find out how he did it, and what he paired the guitar with, here...
