When Hendrix met Spock
Look, I'll be honest, when I first saw the headline "When Hendrix met Spock" on the cover of the December issue of Guitar World, I was a bit puzzled.

Jimi Hendrix had well-documented encounters with plenty of celebrities before his untimely death in 1970. In the moment, I wasn't quite sure what made this one any different.

Trust me when I say though, that this story – written by Noë Gold – of two icons, two masters of their form, crossing paths isn't just the sort of lightweight, "look who had dinner with who!" tidbit you find on page six.

It captures the guitar legend at a time when he was re-shaping the music world around him, and Leonard Nimoy at a moment when was in the midst of his own ascent in a very different world. The two men, it turns out, had a lot more in common than one might think, and the story of their meeting is truly a fascinating one. Give it a read below.
