Editor's Note
The 10 guitarists who shaped Chad Kroeger's sound
In Nickelback's 2006 smash, Rockstar, Chad Kroeger sang of wanting "a new tour bus full of old guitars.”

Now, Kroeger could certainly make that fantasy a reality if he wanted to, but – he tells Guitar World in a new interview – aside from a few gems (a '67 Gretsch in particular), he's not the world's biggest vintage guitar connoisseur.

What Kroeger does thoroughly enjoy, though, is shattering people's expectations of Nickelback, telling us that his absolute favorite compliment to receive is "I never knew you guys were that heavy!"

Along those lines, the list he shared of the 10 guitarists who shaped his sound is also surprisingly heavy, and – whether you're a Nickelback fan or not – worth a read.
