"Greeny" rides again
In the works for years, and seemingly made inevitable once the illustrious model's current owner, Kirk Hammett, endorsed Gibson last summer, the Gibson "Greeny" replica Les Paul has finally arrived.

Boasting the serial number 9 2208, and owned first by Fleetwood Mac's Peter Green, then by Gary Moore, and finally – with a few, less famous owners in the intervening years – by Hammett, "Greeny" possesses a unique, "out-of-phase" tone.

A product of Green replacing the guitar's neck pickup and accidentally putting it in backwards, the one-of-a-kind tone surfaces when the guitar is played in the middle position.

This sonic quirk is replicated in the new Custom Shop "Greeny" replica, which – with its meticulously applied aging, which matches that of the original model to the millimeter – looks to be one of Gibson's most impressively detailed replicas ever. Learn more about the exquisite new model here.
