35 years of Fender Mexico

Last Friday, we told you all about Ibanez, and the 50th anniversary of its entry into the US market. Ibanez isn't the only guitar heavyweight celebrating a big milestone this year, though. 2022 also happens to mark Fender Mexico's 35th birthday.

My own first serious guitar was a Mexican-made Fender Strat, and I'd bet decent money that a Fender Mexico build also played a formative role in the guitar journeys of many of those reading this.

As the driving force of top-selling lines such as the Player, Player Plus, and the retro-inspired Vintera series, Fender Mexico's significance in the market is only growing. Plus, given its recent expansion into Fender's acclaimed Acoustasonic series, Fender Mexico's output has continued to broaden in scope, and increase in quality. Read more about its story.
