The future of EVH Gear

When Eddie Van Halen sadly passed away on October 6, 2020, the future of EVH – the Fender-owned guitar brand he founded in 2004 – was thrown into question.

Soon though, it was revealed that Eddie's son, Wolfgang, and Matt Bruck – a key player in EVH since its inception – would take over the brand, and guide it into the future.

Indeed, the two have no plans to simply rest easy on the laurels of the brand's already-impressive catalog of offerings.

“Ed left a lot of ideas for us to develop,” Bruck tells Guitar World in a new interview. “We are committed to delivering all of them. We worked with Ed for a very long time, and we know what he would want. Ed indeed lives on through his music and the brand, which lives in all of us now, and it’s up to us. It’s also up to every fan – everybody who is involved and appreciates it. We all are the flame now. I don’t see EVH or Ed’s legacy diminishing.”
