Editor's Note
When Jimmy Page used a V...
There aren't too many guitarist/guitar combinations more legendary than Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page and his Gibson Les Paul.

Yes, he also had his famous double-neck Gibson EDS-1275 and legendary "dragon" Telecaster, plus other assorted models for select tunes, but he'll forever be most associated with the gorgeous ‘59 Les Paul he bought from Joe Walsh.

Did you know, however, that Page also used a Gibson Flying V with Led Zeppelin at one point?

“With those big humbuckers, it [the Flying V] was so powerful you can hear it breaking up the amp in the middle of the song," he told Guitar World in 2014. "I could’ve tidied it up, but I really liked hearing the amp really struggle to get the sound out. It’s really fighting through the electronics to get out of that speaker.”

Scroll down to find out which early Zeppelin tune Page is referencing...
